Weekend Recap

Not a good weekend for Irish hoops:

Cincinnati (12-6, 3-3) 60 - Notre Dame (14-4, 3-2) 58 Recap Box Score
#5 Syracuse (18-1, 5-1) 84 - Notre Dame (14-5, 3-3) 71 Recap Box Score

Also on the women's end

#1 Connecticut (17-0, 5-1) 70 - #3 Notre Dame (15-1, 2-1) 46 Recap Box Score

First off from the women's side, there is UConn and everyone else. They have dominated the #2, #3, #5 and #7 teams all by convincing fashion. UConn came out hot 24-4, and cruised to half. ND held with them in the second half but were just too far back to make it worthwhile.

For the men, they lost to Cincinnati on a last second tip-in by UC. ND didn't help their cause by going 9-19 from the line, missing multiple multiple attempts in the last 2:30.
Before tonight, Gody needed 299 points to surpass Austin Carr as ND's leading scorer. Gody added 31 pts to that cause tonight. However, Carr set the record in 3 seasons. If Gody averages 20/10 in Big East, he will be the first player to average 20/10. This will also cause him to be the Big East All-Time leading scorer and rebounder.
TJ took sole possession of second place on ND's assist leader list. Chris Thomas set a unmatchable record of 833 assists and TJ went to 613 this evening.
Abro is surprisingly good. He's the 4th best 3pt shooter, just under 50%. He helped his cause by hitting 5 more tonight.
There were a record 26 NBA scouts tonight watching Gody and Weslyn Johnson for Syracuse.

Go Irish!
