According to sources: Carroll Resigns

update jan. 11 0846MT: Interview with LA Times

Carroll basically admitted he's out but saying it has nothing to do with any incoming allegations. Which of course he has to say. Either way, he brought a program that was rather poor in the 90s to the top of college football in the 00s. And just when the doors are about to be blown off for how they got to the top, he slips out the back and avoids any trouble.

"I was reminded today that USC was under probation from academic fraud stemming from 2001. Therefore, the Bush situation took place within those 5 years of probation"

It appears that the NCAA is about to come down hard to SC Football. They allowed SC to self punish the basketball team, essentially throwing them under the bus, but not the football team. And the one's that are going to get punished are none of the ones that were involved at the time.

Go Irish!
