Big East Standings
1. #4 Pitt 11-1 , 23-2
2. #7 ND 10-3 , 21-4
3. #11 Georgetown 8-4 , 19-5
4. #15 Louisville 8-4 , 19-6
It seems unlikely that we will gain two games on Pittsburgh. Essentially we would need to win out and Pitt would need to lose two (or for Pitt to lose two more games than we do). Looking at each of our remaining games:
Pitt - v USF, @ St. Johns, v WVU, @ Louisville, @ USF, v Villanova
ND - @ WVU, @ Providence, v Seton Hall, v Villanova, @ UConn
Pitt's schedule, the game at St. John's could be tough as they have taken down us, UConn and Duke at home. USF will both be wins. Maybe Nova will change up their strategy for the rematch but if they couldn't get it done at home, I doubt they will at Pitt.
Likewise for us, looking at how well we were clicking yesterday against USF, I don't fear Villanova at all. They did not look like the #10 team in the country and playing them at home should go fine.
Other games of note:
#14 Wisconsin 71 - #1 Ohio State 67
The win by Wisconsin will help our RPI come selection time.
Go Irish!
