Snow Day!!!

Never thought I'd see the day. The university closing certainly is a rarity. Here is a collected list of the previous closings:

Feb. 02, 2011 - Snow
Dec. 12, 2000 - Snow
Feb. 23, 1993 - Snow
Late Jan Thurs,Fri & Mon, 1978 - Snow
Nov. 1963 - JFK Assassination

In 2000, the snow day was the Tuesday of finals week. Finals were rescheduled for Wed/Thurs/Fri evening. There was a freshman chem final at Thursday 10pm-12am. It gave people many problems trying to figure out flights home that were already booked.

In 1978, the record holder for biggest snowstorm in South Bend history. The University was closed Thursday, Friday and Monday. However, there was a basketball game verse Maryland at the ACC. Whoever could get there was let in free. The game was televised on NBC and ND went on to win.
