Big win over Louisville 89-79 (OT)

What a great game. With the final 2 pts in regulation and scoring the first 14 in OT, ND went on a 16-0 run to seal the game down the stretch.

ND earned their 20th win to be 20-4 and 9-4 in the Big East. They now are in 2nd place all to themselves behind Pittsburgh (10-1) but own the tiebreaker against them. Now comes a road stretch:

Sat Feb 12 @ USF
Sat Feb 19 @ WVU
Wed Feb 23 @ Prov

Luckily there is a full week off before West Virginia. USF gave Marquette a run tonight but are still 8-17, 2-10. No reason why we can't come away with a win there.

After our road series we finish it up at home with the only Saturday-Monday turn around against Seton Hall and Villanova (who lost at Rutgers on a four-point play at the final second).

Right now projection has us as a #2 seed in the Chicago bracket.

Favorite Moments from the Game

1. Throughout most of the first half and a good part of the second half, the crowd wasn't really into the game. When we were down 34-31, it was so quiet you could hear Hansbrough yell to Atkins for the ball. Hansbrough then sank the 3 to tie the game, crowd goes nuts. (But Pitino calls timeout and takes the crowd out of it again)

2. After Mike Brey shook hands, he ran over to the front row of students dressed as Mike Brey and cheered with them all.

The final 2 minutes of regulation and all of OT the crowd really came alive and it was must've been much harder to play. Great win, this team has a no lose mentality and really turned it on down the stretch.

Go Irish!
