Gody sat for his third game and for the second game in a row now a different team has taken the floor. The Irish dominated the entire game, never trailing and leading by as much as 24. The last 90 minutes of basketball have been completely different than the prior 1,040 minutes of basketball. What still boggles me as how guys like Cooley and Brog are getting minutes (good for them) but Brooks is still riding the bench behind peoples. This past game was well in hand and no rotations came in. This is basically the team for next year. Put TJ on the bench and there we go.
Gody was honored in the "Ring of Honor" which started with a current player. Basically it's the Irish Hall of Fame. Expect to see Austin Carr, Adrian Dantley and Digger Phelps (amongst others) added.
Apparently, ND has now crept back onto the bubble after ending a 3 game losing streak. With games at Georgetown and Marquette, plus the Big East Tournament, ending with a series of wins cannot hurt. Plus it keeps it fresh in everyones mind that we've been winning recently. But don't be surprised when we faulter in the BET and end up back in the NIT. Is it better to be an 8 seed and play the first day against the bottom half of the league or earn a 7 seed and have a day off to face the middle of the pack? ND currently sits 11th so that may not be a concern at all.
